You need a FAST computer and a minimum of 4 megs ram. I am running Windows 7 Professional under an Intel P4 2.66 with 8mb ram.

My choice of production software is Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 ultra. They now are up to PD 9 which i have not upgraded to yet. They do have a down loadable demo: http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector/overview_en_US.html

Best bet is to copy the .mts files to your computer hard drive from the camcorder and import them from there.

I to have this same camera, but cannot seem to get the video transfered to DVD, with decent quality. The software it came with, and probably my "older" pc contributes, however, what I see here on your site gives me a great feeling that it can be done. Can you PLEASE provide any and all specifics, ie software, where purchased/downloaded, how to, and PC requirements to get my HD video to a HD or close to HD quality DVD.

Thank you, that wasreally interesting. I was born in Thailand in 1970 but my mother and I fled and came here to the UK. Honestly, I didnt care much about my Thai past until my mother died recently, now I've been trying to discover as much as I can. Seemed like cuisine was as good a place as any to start ! Anyway, I found a <a href="http://www.thaifood-recipes.com/" rel="nofollow">thai food recipe</A> site here that your readers might be interested in too.

I forgot to update everyone on the server outage.

Apparently it was a web host problem. Eric Lorenzo responded immediately to my support question, but the site fixed itself overnight.

BTW: If anyone want's to download the Xmoov Video Server? It is at http://stream.xmoov.com

Thanks for both of your comments.

I initially put this site online to host a promotional video for a client. We were using YouTube at the time but were having problems with the videos stalling. You tube has since apparently added capacity to their servers, so we use them for our clients if their time is under 15 minutes.

Anyway back to this site. I have just been using it as a hobby since it's already up and running. The video server itself is written in php by a gentleman, Eric Lorenzo Benjamin JR of <strong><a href="http://stream.xmoov.com" rel="nofollow">stream.xmoov.com</a></strong> it is a flash server and requires all videos to be converted to flash format. I believe that no matter what is uploaded to sites like YouTube etc, they convert it to flash FLV format. I have been producing my videos in 720p then converting to FLV with AVS video converter.

I have not taken any recent footage but do have a lot of raw footage in MTS format. I will pull one out of the archive and run it through the converter at 1080i and see how it comes out.

Just found this site and I really like it. Just started researching camcorders a few days ago.

I have to agree with David Lawson about uploading the Full HD Video samples as is, with no conversions.

I've been trying to find real video's. Which I know would take up a lot of space, but it's hard to truly compare without seeing the raw video, even if it's 30 sec or 1 min.

I think Rapidshare or Megaupload would be great, can do it with free accounts for both. Megaupload is really fast for free users, well if you sign up as a free user anyways. I just started using JDownloader ( jdownloader.org ) and really like it, makes it really easy to download from these download services. You can input your user-name and password for these services (free or paid) and it remembers. It does the captcha things automatically for you with Megaupload, I assume for others also. If you want to upload to Rapidshare, I recommend RUM ( reupper.com ) Even if the videos would be 1gb or 1.5gb it would still be worth your time. I'm sure if you worded your tags right others would find your site eventually when they also try to find raw camcorder footage to compare models.

If you do decide to upload to one of these sites maybe ask people's input for correct tags. Just a thought. I'm to new to this stuff to help out at all.

Thanks for your time,

Hi Doc.
I was wondering if you could upload a raw 24mbps 1080i/p video sample of at least 30seconds?
Watching your video above looks more like SD on my 26in LCD....I hope that doesn't offend you.

I've been trying to find full HD video samples of these camcorders, but they always seem to be scaled.
The optical zoom is impressive.

You could use something like megaupload or rapidshare if u like....I would really appreciate it.
I left my email.

Thx very much.
