I was watching an old Miami Vice TV show I recorded years ago on a VCR tape and decided to convert it to digital format. I usually use a screen capture device to record an avi file then convert that into an mpg. Once converted to mpg it’s easy to convert that to flv so i can stream it here.

A file can also be converted to any mobile device format to watch when on a plane or on a long drive. I use Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 Ultra to produce my movies, and AVS Video Converter to convert my media files.

There are scenes from New York City, Niagara Falls, Orlando Fla, and a time lapse shot in Miami Fla. This is the same camera i bought back in March this year and reviewed HERE and HERE.

The clips were downloaded from YouTube via KeepTube as 720p mp4′s and then loaded into Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 Ultra, then produced as an mpg at 720p. The final step was to convert the mpg file into a self streaming flv file with AVS Video Converter. The video and preview files were then uploaded with FTP to my server.

This is an excellent camcorder for anyone looking for a first camcorder, or upgrading from an older SD camcorder. I actually met Steven here when he asked a few questions about my initial review, and wound up buying the same camcorder.We have kept in touch and he shared these videos with us.

I have been told the battery life is not the greatest on the gz-hd620 but for the low price of this unit and all the features it has its just best to buy an extended life battery or carry a spare with you when planning on recording long videos. This camcorder blows away its Sony comparison. So far the best place i have found to buy online is Amazon.com. Prices have came down a bit since i bought mine in March.

I am producing the SD clips at DVD-HQ with Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 Ultra and limiting the time to around 30 minutes each to save on server load. This one ended up being 2.3MB as an mpeg. It was converted to Flash Format using AVS Video Converter that brought the streaming size down to a more manageable 371MB.

If you missed the other five they are here on the site. I plan on adding 1-2 each day until all 6 are produced. The total rendering and conversion time is about 3 hours each. Check my short links on Twitter for the others if you came here by search engine.

It was recorded by a JVC GZ-MG330AU SD Camcorder.  Rendering was done by Cyberlink Powerdirector Ultra V-8 and was rendered as DVD-HQ that was  2.91 GB, then converted to Flash Format that reduced the size to a more manageable 336MB. Rendering time took 2.5 hours, and another hour to convert and upload to my server. It came out pretty good for SD Video with a touch of enhancement.

This is the first of what looks to be 6 Videos that i will produce from a months Asian vacation.  If you like this one be sure to follow me on Twitter for notification of the others.

I had someone comment on the original posting, wondering how well it did in low light. So this morning i took some footage driving to the airport.  It appears to do well but somewhat fuzzy, this could be because it had to focus through my dirty car windshield. Otherwise I’m still impressed.

For the price i paid for it, it’s working well for me, and easy just to stick in my pocket like this morning.

Just a simple no bs review in real time taking some footage both inside and outdoors. I am very impressed with this GZ-HD620BU. It is JVC’s current year model that I give 5 stars and a big thumbs up!

This is a fantastic camcorder for the family – or for a small business like I have doing budget internet marketing services. Only possible complaint is, if your shooting small areas a wide angle lens is a must.

I do not use the included software which may be ok, I honestly don’t know. I copy all the hd .mts files to my computer hard drive. Then i use Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 to add audio over the time line and produce as an mpg2 file at 720p resolution. This file size is 1.4 GB which is then converted with AVS Video Converter to the newer flash video format .flv which I self stream from my website. The converted file size is a very manageable  97 Megabytes.

If you produce your videos this way they can be uploaded to YouTube in this format, which is much faster uploading if you have a slow net connection, and is what YouTube converts your uploads to anyway.  This also gives you the ability to record in the best quality without worrying about size limits.
